Do You Have a Business or Franchise Blog?
Sep 2nd
Do you have a blog for your small business or franchise? If so, great – keep your blog updated with fresh and quality content. If you don’t, here are 5 benefits of having a blog for your business.
1. You can communicate with your clients and/or potential clients. By blogging regularly, you can develop relationships with people who read your blog. You can interact with people, and through frequent interaction, you may also begin to build trust with your readers.
2. You can position yourself as an expert in your industry. If you are able to provide you readers with educational content that they were not aware of previously, you can position yourself as an authority in your field.
3. Blogging is inexpensive. Instead of spending thousands of dollars on a website, you can actually set up a blog for free. An example of a free platform is Blogger.com.
4. You can answer frequently asked questions. If you get many of the same questions over and over again, you can answer these questions on your blog. This way, people can just refer to your blog if they have questions that are common.
5. You can brand yourself to a much wider audience. By having an online presence through your blog, your business is exposed to (literally) a global audience – as opposed to only the people who walk into your business.
As you can see, blogging can be extremely beneficial in helping to grow your business. If you don’t have a blog yet, definitely consider creating one.

Floor Finishing, Refinishing, and Sanding
Sanding provides a method for smoothing an installed floor, compensating for unevenness of the subfloor. Additionally, sanding is used to renew the appearance of older floors.Sanding using successively finer grades of sandpaper is required to ensure even stain penetration when stains are used, as well as to eliminate visible scratches from coarser sandpaper grades used initially. Prior to modern polyurethanes, oils and waxes were used in addition to stains to provide finishes. Beeswax and linseed oil, for example, are both natural crosslinking polymers are hardened over time. Modern polyurethanes, and polyester resins, used occasionally, are superior in toughness and durability.
“I wanted to thank you for the job your company performed at the Keystone Center last weekend. The hardwood floors at the Center were extremely dirty, damaged and in a state of ugliness! Your service brought back the floors to their original condition. The hardwood floors are original and were first installed over 80 years ago. The floors look brand new. Your crew did a great job of working around our schedule and making certain that there was no disruption with our operation and patient service.” – Kevin Williams, General Manager KeyStone Center, Universal Health Services, Inc.

What can you do with pet stains?
Pet stains are common problems we see. These dark black marks often go all the way through so if the board is turned over, the stain will still be there. Whether you use our service or sand these stains, they normally won’t come out. The industry standard in this case is to recommend board replacement, unless you can hide the damaged sections of the floor with furniture or an area rug. In those cases, we will just proceed with our service. And if you’d like board replacement, we have master carpenters on staff to handle that for you. More on pet stains: Pet urine forms bacteria within 24 hours. The bacteria eats through the urethane and into the board, and continues on through the board until it turns dark and is ruined. We can also color the floor to hide the damage as well.
The type of stain will have different effects, accentuate or obscure, wood grain and neither is superior to the other. Most commercial stains contain both dye and pigment and the degree to which they stain the appropriate wood is mostly dependant on the length of time they are left on the wood. Pigments, regardless of the suspension agent, will not give much color to very dense woods but will deeply color woods with large pores (i.e. oak). Dyes are translucent and pigments are opaque.
Looking For a Low Cost Franchise?
Aug 15th
If you’ve seen this title and have already decided that this is an important one to read, you’re already a good deal ahead of the game in picking out what kind of franchise is for you: a low cost franchise franchise. That’s a good start in whittling down a profoundly long list of potential candidates, vying for the honoured role of your next business endeavour; but even once you’ve knocked all the more expensive franchise opportunities off the list, there is still a great deal of work to do in deciding which of the remaining options is the best one for you, and the most sensible place to begin is at the beginning.
Taking a wide-angle glance at the process, there are four primary aspects of yourself and your life to consider before you commit to even a low-cost franchise. Price range: exactly what low price are you able to pay? Lifestyle: how do you live, and how do you want your work to fit into that lifestyle? Personality: what traits do you have, and how do you work best? Skills and experience: whether it’s natural to you, or something that you’ve learned over time, what are you capable of?

Advantages and Disadvantages of Starting a Franchise
Aug 13th
Starting a franchise is a sure fire way into self employment without all the usual hassles of creating the business plan and venturing into un chartered waters with a new start-up business. The advantages over a stand alone business are evident and we have made a list to discuss the merits of starting a franchise as opposed to setting up as an independent.
Advantages of starting a franchise
1. Tried and tested business model – When you are starting a franchise you are following a system set up by the franchisor and tried and tested in multiple locations up and down the country. Many young businesses are testing new markets and can often fail due to the lack of proper research or bad implementation of the business model however when starting a franchise you will be following the tried and tested methods of the franchisor and the current franchisee base, taking away the element of risk involved with all business start ups.
2. Head Office Support – When starting an independent business you have to rely on yourself and possibly your partner for advice and support. This is a heavy burden and makes the viability of the business 100% your responsibility. All problems must be solved by you and your team alone and in many cases these might be fresh problems that you have no experience of dealing with. when starting a franchise you will have a constant line of support open for advice and problem solving and this advice comes free, giving you all the help needed to overcome any obstacles and ensure you make a success of your newly bought franchise business.
